Factory laboratory: a place of experimentation

Lyria’s Factory laboratory is the place where the fabrics conceived by Riccardo Bruni come to life. It is here that the beauty of imperfection moves from being a pure concept to becoming a textile product, through experimentation.

Throughout the entire production process, Riccardo Bruni brings into play his technical know-how, combining different fibers such as wool, linen, cotton, silk, and jute to create unconventional yarns with a strong character. It is a work of balance and intuition, in which each fiber is chosen for its ability to dialogue with the others, in order to achieve a result that is both aesthetic and performative.

The initial weave thus becomes the fabric’s first voice: a living structure, ready to transform through dyeing, washing, and finishing processes, through which it acquires depth, body, and soul. Each step alters its surface, giving it a naturally organic appearance, as if it had already been lived in. Each passage returns a tone, a light, a texture that makes it unique.

The process then moves into industrial production. Lyria is, in fact, a textile company that produces hundreds of thousands of meters of fabric every year, and it is therefore essential that all the effects born from manual experimentation can be replicated on an industrial scale. Each fabric is thus created, dyed, washed, and transformed while respecting the original process, translating Riccardo Bruni’s poetic language into impeccable technique.

“What is lived every day in Lyria’s Factory laboratory is a ritual that celebrates imperfection, making each fabric unique and unrepeatable, just like life.”
